“Not Just Another Thanksgiving” layout by Amanda Probst.

It felt wrong to do a month of “Give Thanks” without doing a Thanksgiving layout, so here’s mine. This is actually from a couple of years ago, just after my dad died. Though it wasn’t the most joyous of holidays that year, we still found plenty to give thanks for.

Regarding the layout, itself, let me point out the hand-colored title and the “polka dotted” background. For the title, I simply printed it out on the cardstock and then used my Copic pens to fill in the blank portions of that font. For the background, I punched out some circles and used foam squares to add them randomly to the background…because it felt somehow incomplete without them. (I think, too, that the circles softened an otherwise very square layout.)

I also hand-drew and cut that bit of wheat above the journaling. I’d wanted to put a turkey but decided that was too tricky. Since my dad was a wheat farmer, the wheat seemed appropriate (and easier to draw, lol). And, yes, there are 24 photos on this layout. I’m indecisive like that and tend to use lots of photos in a grid. It works for me. J

Party Favors by Tiffani Smith

I'm excited that next week I will be hosting my first (hopefully annual) "Give one, get one" party. Long before I was a paper crafter I found a love of sewing. I have been making twirly skirts for my little girls lately and have had several neighbors ask if I would teach them how to make them. I thought it would be a fun jump start to the holiday season to have a sewing get together. My idea is that for each skirt that is made to keep, one would be made for our local humanitarian center to be distributed to someone in need.

No get together is complete without treats and I thought these little jars would be the perfect containers.

To spruce them up I stamped a flower image twice in each color, cut them out, inked and crinkled the edges. I finished of the centers with matching buttons and added leaves. I think these flowers would also be fun to make as package toppers in lieu of of a store bought bow.

Give Thanks By Stacey Kingman

If you want to make a quick batch of greetings for Thanksgiving, this 6” X 6” card is a great card to mass-produce because it is fairly simple, but the stacked layers and the variety of rich autumn colors give it a special, one-of-a-kind feel.

Here are the measurements for the foundation layers:

Suede Brown Medium – 6” X 12” (fold in half)

Butter Cream – 5 ¾” X 5 ¾”

Spring Willow Dark – 5 ¼” X 5 ¼”

Candle Glow Dark – 4 ¾” X 4 ¾”

You can still machine stitch through several layers of cardstock at one time – just be careful not to stitch the card closed!

Thank You by Jing-Jing Nickel

Above all else, I give thanks to the One who never gives up on me no matter what state I am in my life. I give thanks for His relentless pursuit of my heart. I give thanks for He has not finished the good work He has started in me.

At this point, it is probably evident that I'm crazy about Martha Stewart Crafts' punches. I think this is the 4th project in a row that I use one of her punches to showcase Prism cardstocks. This time, I used the Crown border punch to create the little triangular banners. The triangles started out having a base of 3 inches and height of 4 inches. The punching reduces them to a base of 2 inches and height of 3 inches. I tied them together using embroidery floss to create the banners on the page.

Thankful By Keri Sereika

These past few months have been a very trying few months in the Sereika household. My once, angelic sweet little girl has turned into a "less than angelic" almost three year old who's favorite phrases are "I don't want to" and "I can do it myself, I a big girl".....needless to say there have been many behavior rectifying sessions most of which I have left feeling defeated and frustrated and upset. It's hard to be a momma and have to deal with little people attitudes in such large doses! LOL My hope lies in the reassuring promises of others who have traveled this path before me and have ASSURED me that this too shall pass and my little angel girl will once again return to me...oh how I long for the day... LOL Soooo I decided to get out a picture I had snapped earlier this year of Em and look at it and list some things I am thankful for...

The journaling reads :

Dear Emi, Our days of late have been filled with tears and tantrums...trials and tantrums,
screaming and tantrums...yes lots of tantrums... And although many days I wish for the silent
peace that comes when you finally fall asleep once again and become the peaceful angel you
were not so long ago, I am reminded that this is simply a phase and I am
THANKFUL
Not just because all phases pass but because I have much to be thankful for.
I am thankful that you are curious even when it causes me more work and cleanup.
I am thankful that you are healthy enough to kick and scream, even if it is frustrating.
I am thankful that others assure me their children have done this and they survivied...it gives me hope.
I am thankful that I am your momma, and that you are my little princess.

Thanksgiving table setting by Carly Robertson

I love making place settings for the holidays and truly believe that it always makes the meal taste that much better. For my Thanksgiving setting I started with an inexpensive clay pot, wrapped it in ribbon and tied a tag on it. I decided to fill the pot with flowers.

Using a twig I found in my yard; I cut the flowers, stamped images with Versamark, distressed, layered, and glued to the backs of the flowers to the twig. I then made a complimentary name plate. This is such an inexpensive way to dress up your Thanksgiving table and I hope you’ll give it a try.

Here’s a close up look at the flowers. (insert close up photo here)

“Remember This” layout by Amanda Probst.

With a theme of “Give Thanks” this month, I find myself drawn to counting my blessings. I knew as soon as I snapped this photo that it would end up on a layout like this. I remember thinking these exact thoughts as I hurried to take the picture before catching up.

Sigh. If you know any secrets to getting kids to stop growing up, please share. :)

Thanksgiving Defined By Stacey Kingman

I love Thanksgiving for many reasons beyond my mom’s awesome stuffing and our favorite yeast rolls. The colors of late autumn are so subdued and natural and our Thanksgiving decorating is always centered around natural elements and harvest items brought in from outside. This card includes some of my favorite Prism cardstock colors, working together to create an overall feeling of nature and autumn and , of course, thankfulness.

My focal pieces are all stamped on the Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock, which accepts the ink so evenly and beautifully. I added texture with layering (there are five layers of cardstock), stitching (Prism cardstock is so easy to run through a sewing machine!), inking, stamping, crimping, and minimal embellishing.

Prism cardstock:

Thinking of You by Tiffani Smith

This is the month for being thankful, and what better way to show it than by sending out a note just to say you care.
I have just recently gotten into using stamps and I don't have a large selection to choose from. I didn't have anything "fall-ish" in my collection so I decided to try and use this spring floral. I like the way the colors make this stamp take on a fall feeling.

Many Thanks by Tami Mayberry

With this month's theme being "give thanks" of course I had to make a thank you card. I love how Prismatics make it super easy to make a card in a snap. The Prismatics line comes with colors in 3 shades. So, one can simply pick a color, use the 3 coordinating shades along with a neutral base and the work is done for you. For my card I chose a Kraft base and the 3 colors in the Desert Coral family:

I used strips but you could easily use punched shapes, die cut designs or geometric shapes.

Thank You by Keri Sereika

This month's theme is "Give Thanks". Honestly, when I first heard the theme I was excited and thought "oh fun I will do a Thanksgiving card"...that was two months ago...and quite frankly I am tired of the fall color palette today...so I decided to do a card inspired by the sky yesterday....it was all shades of blues and white and the barren tree limbs framed against the blue backdrop was all I needed to come up with this color scheme. My card today uses a technique known as "Faux Embossing". It is a simple technique that can really spice up your cardstock projects. Simply punch out the same color cardstock as your base layer in shapes that coordinate with your project style. Adhere two punched shapes one on top of each other and adhere to your card base.

Be sure to use a good adhesive like EZ Runner by Scrapbook Adhesives so that your layers don't come apart on you. Then finish it up by just layering the rest of your elements right on top! :) I hope you enjoy!

Give Thanks by Carly Robertson

For my Give Thanks card I started with Kraft cardstock and stamped the circle image background. I then layered a strip of Espresso paper and using Papaya Puree Dark paper cut from the Top Note label die, I stamped with the flourishes image and sentiment. For my top layer I stamped a pumpkin and flower image on Vanilla Cream paper and colored with pencils. I love to use pencils on paper that has a bit of a texture because it will really show in your coloring and add wonderful dimension to the image, as demonstrated in the pumpkin. So next time, try using texture paper with your pencils and see the amazing details it adds to the image.

November Theme--Give Thanks

This month's theme is "Give Thanks" and we are kicking off the month with this project Jing-Jing Nickel:

It's the time of the year when we reflect on our blessings and give thanks to those who mean the most to us. With that in mind, I made this little card. It can be used as a Thanksgiving card or it can be used simply as a "thank you" card.

Simply, I used the Thanks border punch and punched out six strips of cardstock. I staggered them somewhat randomly and then machine stitched them together to give it a little texture. I love easy cards!!

Gratitude by Heather Binnie

We just returned from a camping trip in Northern Arizona. Before we left, I took a picture of my family in front of the cabin we rented. Everyone looked so happy and content and it made me realize how grateful I am to have these people in my life.

I started by simply matching up the colors in the photo. After staring at it for several hours, I realized it needed a little splash of something so I grabbed the Candle Glow Dark to spice it up a little.

Blessings Jar by Tami Sanders

I can’t think of fall without thinking about Thanksgiving…

So for my second “Falling for Prism” project as a guest designer this month, I’ve created a project that my family can use during our thanksgiving celebration – a blessings jar.

Thanksgiving is a time to do just that – GIVE THANKS!

I don’t always stop to “count my blessings” though...
on any given day, I could probably list 20 things that DIDN’T go right off the top of my head, but I’d have to stop and think in order to list even a few of the things that DID go as planned! And even if the day really WAS terrible, I would still have plenty to be thankful for – IF, I’d just stop to think about it!

So, I decided to make a blessings jar that we could fill up with all the wonderful things we have to be grateful for. Before Thanksgiving dinner, I’ll pass around slips of paper so my family can write down what they are thankful for. Then we can put our slips in the jar as a reminder of those gifts. During the year, we can add slips from time to time or open up the jar and “count” when we need to remember how blessed we really are.
Then next year at Thanksgiving, we can reflect over last year’s “gifts” and add new ones as well!
Here are the supplies and directions if you’d like to make YOUR own blessings jar…

Prism Papers:
Papaya Puree Dark
Avana OR101-F
Terra Bruciata OR161-F
Husk BR040-B
Packaging Brown Wrapping BR220-C
Paper Bag BR260-D
Kelp M04
Pier M06

Other: Anchor Hocking: Jar, Hero Arts: Scattered Leaves clear stamps, Scrappy Cat; Playful Serif clear stamps, Clearsnap: ColorBox: Fluid Chalk Ink: Creamy Brown, Chestnut Brown, Dark Brown, Pigment Ink: Gold Brocade and Pheasant Gold and Ancient Page Ink: Sunburst, Darice: Buttons, ProvoCraft: zig zag scissors, AccuCut: layering circles die, EK Success: 3D Dots – 1/16” and Hobby Lobby, Marvy and EK Success: various leaf punches

Directions:
  1. Measure the circumference of your jar and cut a 3” wide piece{s} of Paper Bag cardstock to wrap around the jar. Trim long edges using zig zag scissors, ink edges using Chestnut Roan chalk ink and adhere around center of jar.
  2. Use lower case alphabet letters to stamp “count” and “your” on strips of Husk cardstock using Dark Brown ink. Trim and ink edges using Chestnut Roan ink and adhere to front of jar.
  3. Use upper case alphabet letters to stamp out the individual letters in “BLESSINGS” on a piece of Husk cardstock using Dark Brown chalk ink. Cut each letter apart, trim and ink edges using Chestnut Roan chalk ink. Adhere to front of jar using 3D dots to adhere a few letters.
  4. Punch an assortment or small, medium and large leaves from Avana, Terra Bruciata, Papaya Puree Dark, Packaging Brown Wrapping and Pier cardstocks. Lightly “crush” and wrinkle the leaves, then ink edges using Chestnut Roan chalk ink on all but those punched from Pier cardstock, use Gold Brocade ink for those.
  5. For large stamped green leaves: ink large leaf stamp with print design using Pheasant Gold ink, then stamp on Packaging Brown Wrap cardstock. When dry, cut out, “crush” and ink edges using Chestnut Roan chalk ink.
  6. For medium stamped oval leaves: ink medium oval leaf stamp with Gold Brocade ink, then stamp on Husk cardstock. When dry, cut out, “crush” and ink edges using Creamy Brown chalk ink.
  7. For large stamped russet leaves: ink oak leaf stamp with Sunburst ink, then stamp on Husk cardstock. When dry, cut out, “crush” and ink edges using Creamy Brown chalk ink.
  8. Arrange, layer and adhere leaves by “title” and around cardstock strip at center of jar.
  9. Measure the height and the circumference of your jar lid and cut piece{s} of Paper Bag cardstock slightly wider to fit around the edge. Trim long edges using zig zag scissors, then ink edges using Chestnut Roan chalk ink. Adhere to sides of lid.
  10. Cut 1/8” strip{s} of Kelp cardstock long enough to go around side of jar lid; ink edges using Chestnut Roan chalk ink and adhere down center of zig zag strip.
  11. Diecut a 3 ¼” circle from layering circles die and trim edges using zig zag scissors. Ink edges using Chestnut Roan chalk ink and adhere to center of jar lid.
  12. Stack and adhere buttons to center of jar lid.
  13. Cut strips of Husk cardstock approx ¾” X 6” to write blessings on.

I wish you and your family a very THANKful THANKSgiving!

Fall Banner by Jen del Muro

One of the best things about the fall and holiday seasons is all the decorating that gets to be done. I love breaking out the boxes of decor and getting my house ready for each of the holidays. In the past, I have not made a whole lot of my decor, but this year I started doing a little here and a little there and I am really starting to like adding the personal touches to my collection. Since this month’s theme for Prism is “Falling Into Prism,” I figured that a “Fall” banner would be perfect.

I started with my Nestabilities Labels Eight dies from Spellbinder to create the base and smaller Kraft layers. I then cut the additional layers from both my circle Nestabilities and Vintage Findings Slice Machine design card. To add detail to this project, I ran the Kraft layers through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sponged the edges. I sewed along the edges of the brown and orange layers that are centered under the letters and acorns. Each of the panels is tied together with brown grosgrain ribbon and topped off with a button tied with twine.

Hi Ya! By Carly Robertson

For my final card this month I used a Kraft card base, stamped a text image in Versamark and layered a wide strip of Sunflowers Light, which also had a Versamark image stamped on it. I then cut three different sized squares from the Espresso, Sunflowers Light and White Prismatic cardstock and layered; stamping my bird images and sentiment on the white. The flower was cut using my Sizzix Flower Layers die and each layer was stamped with an image using Versamark and distressed to give it dimension and texture. Well there you have it, my final project. It has been so much fun sharing these projects with you this month and I hope that they have given you some ideas that you can incorporate into your next crafting project.

Give Thanks Album by Tiffani Smith

A few years back I made an album for Thanksgiving to my family to record things we are thankful for. Just a simple album to sit on the kitchen counter with a pen where people could quickly jot down any thankful thoughts. I loved that album and have decided to make one every year. This is my album for this year.

I made it with a Bo Bunny 6 x 6 chipboard album. These are the perfect size for a project like this. To create the cover I adhered a piece of cardstock to the chipboard to create a base. Next I stamped a simple a piece of yellow cardstock with a background pattern stamp with ink a shade darker than the cardstock. I cut the edge of that piece with my pinking shears and adhered it to a piece of dark brown cardstock. To finish I adhered leaves that I cut out with my Silhouette and added letter stickers, ribbon and buttons. I can't wait to see what my kids have to write down this year.

Fall Fun by Keri Sereika

I have had this photo of my son Elliott for over two years...I loved it when I saw it and knew that one day I would scrap it but I just didn't know what colors to use...you see, the pumpkins in the background were so OBVIOUSLY FALL that I felt weird using blues and greens to scrap it...but then I realized, Fall colors don't always have to be so drab and "earthy"...so why not spice it up and use this pic??? When I rifled through my Prism stash you can imagine my giddy excitement when I realized that Flame, Starburst and Fairway Metallic cardstocks were THE PERFECT MATCHES for this photo!!! I was THRILLED!!! By adding just a bit of texture using embossing folders and my crimper the layout just fell right into place. And my Nested Pumpkin from Spellbinders™ was just the "touch" I was hoping for once I was done adding texture, airbrushing it with my Copic ABS and faux stitching it. So now, finally, this adorable photo of my silly guy can take it's place in his scrapbook!

Happy Fall Y'all!!!

Fall Gift bag by Tami Mayberry

Today I am "Falling for Prism" with a quick and easy fall gift bag.

This bag can be used for small gifts or festive party favors. It was created from 1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 Kraft colored card stock using steps like the ones found here. I cut the top flap off of mine and added the colored strips before assembling. (The wide Terra Bruciata strip was scored with my scor-pal at 1/2" intervals.)

Once finished the bag I created a stamped image for a focal point. The image was stamped onto Kraft card stock with Clearsnap Vivid ink in Chocolate Brown and then the leaves were colored with pumpkin colored Smoock ink. Then I matted the image with Chocolate (I sort of have a thing about chocolate ;) and attached it with 3D Foam Squares. One could easily add a handle as well but I chose to leave mine without.

Super easy!

“A Beautiful Fall Day” layout by Amanda Probst

I’m a bit sad. Here in Colorado, we had a lovely little winter preview last week (complete with enough snow for snowball fights). Thanks to that cold snap, I may not get any fall leaf pictures this year. Drat.

So. I suppose I’ll have to make due for the moment with photos from last year. I’ll do my best not to let the gorgeous colors in this layout get me down when I look outside at the poor naked trees and the crumpled brown leaves on the ground.

On the plus side, I already have some great snow pictures… ;)

Pumpkin Mock Lanterns by Tiffani Smith

Here is another fun and easy fall decoration. I have a large opening between my living room and dining room that I like to hang seasonal decorations from. I have had pink tissue poofs up there for months now. I love them but they just weren't saying fall at all. Now I have several of these mock lanterns and they are perfect. I love that they only take a few supplies to make. To make the large size you will need 2 sheets of 12"x12" paper cut into 1"x12" strips for a total of 24 strips. For the smaller size you can make two with one sheet of 12"x12" paper cut into 1"x6" strips. You will get 24 strips from one piece, you will need 12 for each lantern. After you have cut the strips punch a hole 1/2" from edge on both ends of each strip. I used the crop-o-dile to do this so that I could do several at once. Once you have the holes in the ends line the strips up in a stack and thread a ribbon through both ends. Tie a knot at the bottom and slide the upper portion on the ribbon until it is the height you want it and tie another knot. To finish, fan the strips out. It works best if you spread the strips out by taking one from the top and then one from the bottom over and over. This way they don't fold back "un-fan out" so easily.

October Guest Designer- Jen del Muro

Howdy from North Texas! My name is Jen del Muro and I am a paper crafting and stamping addict. I can’t say exactly when my love for all things paper really started, as I have always loved making little cards and projects. However, a few years back I got hooked on stamping when I was given a paper crafted/stamped Halloween favor. I wanted...ahem...needed to know everything about it. Needless to say, there was no turning back. I am sure many of you know this feeling!

I reside in Saginaw, Texas with my husband of 6 years and daughter. We have a little boy on the way and he will be making his grand entrance at the beginning of 2010. Two intellectually deficient dogs, sly black cat and a male betta named Aurora also call our house home.

I am DE-LIGHTED to be part of Prism for the month of October! I first discovered Prism when I was on the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen about 3 years ago. Before that, I was not familiar with the wonderful paper they had to offer. Since then, my love has grown and when I saw the call for Guest Designers I knew that I had to take a shot at it! Thanks so much for picking me and I look forward to working more and more with this fabby product!!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, I’m not talking about Christmas. I am talking about fall! The leaves are changing, the temperature is dropping and all the fun holidays are upon us. I have to admit that I am not historically the biggest fan of Halloween. I can’t tell you why or why not, I just never got that into as a kid. Then I started stamping and paper crafting. Boy, did my outlook change quickly! Papers, Colors, Embellishments...OH MY! With that in mind, you can imagine just how excited I was to see that the theme for this month is “Falling into Prism.” The wheels got turning really fast and I jotted down tons of ideas, the first of which was a “Boo Box.” What exactly is a “Boo Box?” In short, it’s a Halloween themed box to fill with Halloween treats or other gifties.

To create this box, I die cut 4 Labels Eight Nestabilities dies and scored them at 1/2” on both of the short sides and one of the long sides. I popped the short-sided scored areas out and glued them together to create the box. The final scored area was folded under and glued to a 4.25” square that made the bottom of the box. I used 2 strips of orange paper to create a clean line around all sides of the box. The front of the box was embellished with more Nestabilities dies, as well as die cuts using the Spook Alley Design Card for the Slice Machine and the Martha Stewart bat punch. The white Nestabilities die panel was run through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, and the bat was covered with fine black glitter. The finishing touches include the twine wrapped buttons and mini black rhinestones.

Guest Designer--Heather Binnie

My name is Heather Binnie and I live in Tucson with my husband (Erik), 3 children (Ashley, Trent & Kat), 3 dogs and 1 cat. I’ve been scrapping for about 8 years now. I also love stamping and card making. I teach a card class every other month or so and I love introducing my students to Prism.

I first cut a scallop circle from Gray Prismatic using my Cricut. I distressed the edges a bit. I then cut leaves from my Cricut in different shapes and sizes using Butter Cream, Herbal Garden Dark and Desert Coral Dark. I sprayed each of the leaves with walnut ink. I traced a ring on Crabapple Dark and cut it out by hand. The scrolls were also cut with my Cricut using Herbal Garden Dark. I stamped the title on Desert Coral Dark and cut out. The scroll is stamped on Butter Cream and cut out. The photos are matted on Black.

October Guest Designer- Tami Sanders

I am a stay at home mom {who is practically never home!} with 2 boys; Drew age 12 and Christopher who is 7. I have been married for 15 years to an extremely patient and understanding husband, Rob, who supports {and puts up with!} my scrapbooking addiction.

I have been an avid scrapbooker for over 12 years. For the past 7 years, I have been an instructor for several of the scrapbook stores here in my hometown of San Antonio, as well as a guest instructor at a few stores around Texas.
I am currently a member of several manufacturer design teams, and work as a freelance designer as well.

I am very excited to be joining the Prism Design Team as a Guest Designer for October!

I just LOVE fall with all its deep, rich gorgeous colors… reds, oranges, yellows, greens and browns. Unfortunately, we don’t have much of a “fall” season here in Texas, just a few fleeting weeks {or sometimes just days} where I can enjoy all the wonderful autumn colors. I remember the first time my youngest son Chris noticed the leaves changing. The wonder in his voice has remained fresh in my mind; he was awed by the beauty of it. And at the time, I remember stopping to take in the view with “fresh eyes”; seeing it as he did.

But even when autumn ends, I can still capture the colors in my fall scrapbooking and paper crafting. Prism Papers has hundreds of beautiful cardstock colors to help keep the season around a little while longer. I had some photos from Connecticut a friend {thanks Dee!} had taken that I wanted to use on a layout. The colors were AMAZING! While trying to decide which photos to use, I found I kept coming back to the same 4 photos. They each depicted a different color of fall, and I thought they would be beautiful grouped together. So, I got the idea to pair each of the photos with a cardstock. But could I be able to find the “right” color for each photo? You betcha’! With Prism cardstocks it was EASY! I was able to find cardstock colors that matched my photos perfectly; Lifeguard, Avana, Light House and Tropical Green. The photos and colors in them was the starting point of the layout, after that it just all came together.
I wanted to use a “neutral” cardstock for the background so I selected Kraft. I also wanted my colors to “pop” off the background, so I chose to mat them in dark brown. The mats of the color cardstock blocks are done in Coco, and the photos are matted in Chocolate – which is just slightly lighter that the Coco so that they don’t fade into the matting on the color blocks.

For the “colors” portion of the title. I matted narrow strips of the four “autumn” cardstock colors on a piece of Coco cardstock. Then I adhered that strip to the Husk cardstock and diecut the letters. {You have to be careful to cut them out along the same line so the stripe lines up}.
I inked the “FALL” chipboard letters using Dark Brown chalk ink, and the “of” using the Peach Pastel. I had a few scraps of cardstock left over, so decided to use them as tabs along the left side of the layout.
I think the key when doing this type of “simple” layout, is to keep everything crisp and clean. Spacing is important too! I penciled in light guidelines to keep everything lined up, then erased them after I’d glued all the pieces down.
Enjoy YOUR colors of fall!

October Guest Designer-Carly Robertson

Carly Robertson is a stay-at-home mom to beautiful twin, 2 year old, daughters, Abigail and Emma; and a wife to a lovely supportive husband. Carly was raised in a very creative family and although she dabbled in crafts growing up, it wasn’t until her daughters were born that she really got hooked. She is now seriously addicted to all things paper and spends her spare time creating cards, scrapbook pages, mini books and crafty projects of all sorts. Carly lives in Canada near the Rocky Mountains.

Here Carly's first project for October and a bit about the process:

I am so excited to be a guest designer for Prism Papers this month and was thrilled when I receive my box of goodies to create with. I immediately knew what I wanted to create. I’ve had this picture of my daughter that I’ve wanted to scrap and when I saw the beautiful colors of paper in my Prism package I could see this layout in my head. I first cut, distressed and stamped all my paper before adhering together. To give the page dimension I made some paper rolled flowers and added the heart-shaped butterfly. This page just feels like fall to me with the beautiful warm rich mix of colors.

I also would like to note that adding pattern paper to a layout can sometimes distract from the photo which is why I love lots of whitespace in my layouts, and often the use of cardstock only. Additionally, you can instantly add pattern to your layout by just stamping images using Versamark on cardstock, which is what I did on this scrapbook page, and it still keeps that clean and simple design - which is a style I love!

Fall Card by Tami Mayberry

For my first project this month I chose to go with some rich fall Prism Papers colors. I used a brayer with burgundy ink on Candle Glow dark card stock. Then stamped the image with brown ink. Then I sanded the image lightly and roughed up the edges. I left if without a sentiment so it can be used for any occasion when I need a quick card ;)
